After several minutes of running, check engine light comes on and engine enters SLOW mode, believe that EMM might be overheating, appears it is getting water flow, possible vapor sparator issue? What is the best way to check water flow through EMM? tks

Re: 02 FICHT 200 hp EMM Overheat?

Disconnect both water hoses from the EMM and look thru the fittings. There should be no sand or salt buildup and it should be clear all the way.

Blow through each of the hoses and if there are any restrictions, trace the hoses and check all the fittings. The fuel cooler assembly often gets clogged up with sand due to its narrow cooling water passage. Do not use compressed air on it if it seems plugged up. Blow back and forth through both fittings and maybe use an end of the Ty-rap inserted into a fitting to break up any deposits.

Thanks...checked all lines and water running clear. I am also getting a service code of 17 indicating low alternator output voltage. Could this problem throw off the EMM?
any help appreciated
