02 Yamaha 200 not getting fuel?

Hello everyone, I just bought this used boat a few weeks back. Motor is a 4 stroke 200 with about 450 hours on it. Starts right up, idles perfectly. Last time out, I put the hammer down to get up on plane and after running a little, motor just died. Started right up and idled but when I give it gas it dies. My buddy noticed the ball on the fuel line was collapsed (all sucked in). Figured I had a bad ball, so changed it. The new one will not get hard when pumped. I don't have a lot of mechanical experience, but am guessing there is a blockage between the gas tank and ball. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

the arrow on the bulb should point toward the motor and lay level - if not pointed up a little....if the arrow points down -the check valves in each end of the the bulb won't work and it won't pump up....as for the bulb getting sucked flat - that indicates a restriction - check the antisiphon valve on top of the fuel tank

A fuel pressure/vacuum gauge teed into the fuel line at different places will show you what is going on and where the restriction is or at least where it is not

sucked flat is a bad vent or anti siphon valve
