Hi folks, I just got my boat out of storage and noticed that the outdrive oil reservoir is showing a lower level than when I put the boat away. I see no external leaks anywhere so where could it be going?

I noticed this even last year while I was operating the boat that it seemed like the level dropped slightly before and after a few days of operation. I noticed this after I changed the gear lube for the first time.

This is an 03 mercruiser with an outdrive oil reservoir inside the engine compartment.

I don't know if this has anything to do with the changing of the fluid or if there is a problem or if this is normal but there is no oil leaking.
Thanks for the help.

All the air could be finally out of the system. I would keep an eye on it. If it continues to drop with no signs of leakage... then take a look.

It's normal for them to burp the air bubble out of the drive after a run or two, then the level should stop dropping. Just top it off to the full line, and check it each trim to make sure it doesn't keep dropping.
