Just bought the boat and the VRO was deleted prior to me owning it, it is a 2005 90 horse Johnson 2 stroke. It seems like the fuel pump is weak and isn't pulling fuel through (have a few more tests to run before I decide to go this route).
my question is, is it worth rebuilding the fuel pump or buying a new one. Some say yes, some say no.. I plan on spray carb cleaner around the pump to make sure there's no blown gaskets on the outside sucking air or cracks in the housing. Looking at the costs of it, a Johnson Evinrude rebuild kit is around $100 with shipping, a new fuel pump is $350+. Is rebuilding going to cause me a larger headache down the road
