Im new to the forum. I bought a 05 Stingray 4.3 GXi with an SX-M drive. The boat has only 68 hours on it and has never been stored in the water. The boat runs perfect and looks brand new inside and out. The only troublesome issue is what appears to be galvanic corrosion on the sterndrive. It's in the very early stages, but several spots (golf ball size max) have bubbling paint with white corrosion underneath. The bubbling does not appear to be from scratches or chips. I obviously want to do something about it before it progresses any further which means I have to figure out why its occuring to start with. The boat was used in brackish and fresh water and has the correct aluminum anodes. When I got the boat, the anodes were lightly crusted over (from sitting) and I suspect not functioning very well because of that, but is that the culprit? I bead blasted them, cleaned the mating surface and reinstalled. Except for the crust, they had not been sacrificed at all. Before I go to the trouble of sanding, priming and painting the spots, I wanted to see if any one else had suggestions about other things to check? Also, should the ground wires connecting the transom to various other components have clean bare metal underneath the connections?
