Does anyone know of a Gamefisher 1.2 hp repair manual?! If I could find one I would buy it. Alternatively can anyone tell me how to properly adjust the float in the carb?

There's a little metal tab that moves the float needle when the float moves up and down. You can bend that slightly if your float level needs adjusting, but unless it somehow got out of adjustment, then it's probably set O.K. and better to leave it alone. That motor was made by Tanaka out of Japan, maybe check their web site for manual and parts. I've had a Gamefisher/Tanaka for over 25 years and they're dead simple, easy to work on, dependable. Good Luck!

Thanks for the info, I'll go have a look. My issue is that the motor runs for 5 minutes and then quits. The motor floods and the plug gets fouled. I opened up the carb and the float sits slightly cockeyed. There are two leaf spring like tabs that contact the float, one on each side, and they are not at the same height. It just doesn't look right but I have no idea how it could have happened, the rest of the motor is in beautiful shape.

Maybe somebody took carb apart and accidently bent one of those tabs. You should be able to align them back up and get your float level. It sounds to me like that may be your problem. Once you get it set up right you can pretty much forget that carb, just not much to it. My only fuel problems have been restriction through that little petcock, the filter screen or the fuel tank vent not being opened up while running. Good Luck
