I have a new yamaha 115 4 stoke. Called dealer to have 10 hour service performed, was told that they did not do 10 hour service anymore it was 20 hour. Anyone heard of this change, manual says 10 hours.

Re: 10 hour service

nope
according to the 2005 tech guide its still at 10 hours. sounds like ya may be in the wanchese area :) . there are a few dealers that are going for 20 instead of 10. dont know why, I just fix them. I dont involve myself with internal dealership politics. however its almost retirement time, hopefully by the end of august I quit :) :)

Re: 10 hour service

mberry,
Ask Your dealer WHY they use 20 hour as first sheduled service. Ask them if Yamaha has adviced them to change this or if they just invented that new 20 hour period themselves.
If they insist on 20 hour make sure that is written in the service protocol and if Yamaha has not changed to 20 hour make sure they write in protocol that the dealer has decided 20 hour to be suitable for first service. Just in case there will be any warranty case in future where service could be a factor.
Personally I would ask them to do the service at 10 hour. To be on safe side.

I have a Yamaha F115 (2003) myself and first service was made after 10 hour.
