Look for a tag along the tiller handle base. There should be a little tag with the model and serial number on it. Not sure where its gonna be but it should have one on it somewhere. Post that and you will get alot more help.

Wester Auto motors carried the "Wizard" brand name. Early ones were made by Mercury, later by Scott Atwater/McCulloch. Yours sounds like a McCulloch.

Is it worth restoring??? Sure it is, to somebody. If that "somebody" isn't you, find the one that is. If you want to sell it, place a free ad on the Webvertize forum at the Antique Outboard Club's website, www.aomci.org Don't expect to go on a luxury cruise with the proceeds. Sight unseen, maybe $75.

Yes guys it does have the wizard brand name on it ... I was just wondering who made them for western auto ? wasnt wanting to know the doller value of it just wondering if it was worth messsing with as far as getting parts for it and taking on the chalange more so than anything just to make my old uncle smile since it brought him many years of good days fishing and memories...

Re: 10 hp bought at westernauto ?

Sorry, I was a bit hasty with my reply.

1940-1957 built by Mercury
1957-1958 built by Oliver
1959-1964 built by Scott.McCulloch
1965-74 Built by Chrysler.

We need a picture or model number to ID it.
