10 y/o boy dies in the NH woods

This story has been all over the news. You guys local to me will know about it, I'm not sure if its all over the country.<br />----------------------------------------------------------<br />A ten year old boy from MA was up in NH's white moutains for ths boys birthday. The boy and some other kids where playing a few hundred yards from where they where staying. They all raced back to the condo. The boy never got their. After thee days of search they found his body 2miles from where he was staying the the woods. He died from the elements. <br /><br />What I would like to know is this:<br />Why did it take them so long to find him!!?? We have friggen night heatsencers on police choppers that we use to catch guys who run at night. . . .why did NH state police search threw the woods on foot? I'm sorry, but it seems to me this should never have happend .

I have heard about it and wondered myself why when he was so close, it took so long to find him.

Sorry to hear the news.<br /><br />We had our share of lost kids in our area too.<br /><br />You know darn well the government has the technology to find just about anyone they want at a moments notice, such as satellite equipment.<br /><br />You'd think they would have some kind of heat sensing equipment they could use, especially in an area where the boy was. I assume he was in an area that wasn't populated much.<br /><br />H.
