Hello. I need help. I have a 1973 Chrysler 105 that will fire and run for about 5 seconds. It dies and will not fire until it sits for a few hours. I've tried everything I can think. Timing is set at 32 degrees BTC with throttle wide open. It has new plugs and plug wires have continuity from plug end to cap. It holds a syphon and I've rebuilt the fuel pump. Any ideas will help. Thanks.

73 should have the "tin can" circuit breaker below the terminal board. Look for a short that is popping the circuit breaker. This type breaker does not have a reset button so you simply must wait until the bimetal cools and reestablishes contact. Look under the flywheel where the CD wires pass. It is common for them to rise and rub on the flywheel, shorting. A bent aluminum plate bolted to the top exhaust cover bolt and covering the wires cures this problem
