105 hp timing

Chrysler 1059he 1976 with distributor and magnapower.The intertech book tells me to set flywheel tdc mark to pointer and match marks on distributor toward flywheel.The matchmarks line up at 30deg btdc now.Whitch is right? What does the tach wire tat goes to ignition switch do ?
