115 hp evinrude motor

i have a 115 hp 1983 evinrude motor and i want to idle it up a bit faster. any tips on the best way to do it, i dont see a idle screws on the carbs anywhere . is there another way to do it.

Actually, adjusting idle is done with the timing adjust screw, for lack of better name. As a matter of fact, the first quarter throttle doesn't even open the carbs, just gives more timing advance to give you more rpm. Follow your throttle controls into your motor. Now look at the bell crank were they connect. you will see a fairly long adjusting screw, at the top of the bell crank, almost bellow the flywheel. That's the one you want. It should be about 650 rpm in the water, on forward gear, engine warm. But i found that if you want to do it with the ear muffs, 1100 rpm should give you the same result.
