I have a 115 HP Mariner. It was running fine and then when I took off again, I could only run about 4K RPM's. When I checked the firing, I was only getting fire on Cylindars 1&2. I switched the wires on the coils and got fire on cylindars 3&4, so the coils must not be bad. Is this a powerpack problem? Is there any way to test a power pack (i.e. ohms)?

If the motor is dropping cylinders on one side it sounds like a powerpack. You can test the powerpack, but i just had one replaced that tested good but was bad. Also, what caused my powerpack to go out was a bad voltage reg. I dont know a lot about these engines but i am learning hope what i have learned helps
