I have a 115HP Merc 6 cyl tower on a Starcraft Islander. Yesterday on a fishing trip the shift/ignintion/throttle/choke box mounted at the helm was emitting a high pitched electronic beep beep beep ALL DAY LONG! I had plenty of oil coming to the motor as evidenced by the smoke when I periodically put it in neutral and cleared the plugs. The motor was pissing a good stream of water (new impeller) and the water was cool to luke warm. The engine was not hot to the touch. Any ideas what this little beep beep is all about? In my experience, mostly OMC, beeping indicates either lack of oil, overheat, or restricted fuel flow. Any help would be appreciated.
thanks
bill
