115 inline problem

I got a A128039 115 merc I need to know the year of. But my problem is the motor idles perfectly smooth as silk. but when you try to speed up it just will not do it. One guy said my stator may be bad. something about 2 different voltages on the coils ??? carbs were cleaned , kits . fuel pump rebuild . new fuel line motor to the tank .<br />This motor may tach up to around 2000 and thats it. any ideas ? Thanks for any help all.

1985, if the carbs are clean and you have cked for spark, if the linkage goes to full throttle yes you need to ck the stator, have you a DVA or OHM meter available to you we can give you specs. if you need them

Laddies,<br /> I have a analog ohm meter if that will do. yes i need the procedure . this is for a friend . thank you very much.

Stator test 9 to 16 amp, alt.(small 3 wire rectifier)<br />blue and blue/white wires to - is 5000 to 7000 ohms<br />red and red/white wires to - is 90 to 200 ohms<br /><br />On the 40 amp alt. 5 wire regulater<br />blue and blue/white to - is 1000 to 1600 ohms<br />red and red/white to - is 75 to 90 ohms

Yes. Unhook all stator wires before testing it.<br /><br />-W
