On my used 1994 Johnson that I bought I noticed that the rpm's in lowered position runs about 5800-5900@49 mph and then when I trim it out it goes up to about 6200@ 55mph. It was even higher(6000-6200 @49mph when down) when I used the prop that came with it which was an alum. prop 13x19 and when I put on the stainless that I had with the same pitch is when it did come down some. Is it nesssasary to get it lower or will this be okay? Also is there possibly a place to see what is the best pitch to use for my boat. It is a 1984 Checkmate Enticer 16'7". It's my baby so would like to not screw it up. Thanks in advance, Lubertus

You are dead on. Especially if you tested with a less than normal load. Neat boat. Have fun.

Good luck!
