I was thinking about buying a boat with a Chrysler 115 HP motor on it. It supposedly needs rings and rod on # 3 is broken. The year of the boat is a 1977, I dont know year, model or serial of motor. I know nothing about a Chrysler Engine. Are they good engines? Are parts still availibe for them? I figured this was a good place to start, since the Mercury Forum was so helpful with my present boat. Thanks for all the help in advance.

My thought is that if the rest of the rig is in excellent shape then work out a price that factors the motor as being worthless. If the tilt and trim unit lifts the motor and doesn't drift down it's worth good money on ebay. Sell what you can and find a used o/b on Craigslist and repower.
