120,000 are protesting in NYC. Thats okay, but I personally wouldn't want to be in a group that large. Could end up being a target for a terrorist. That would be sad. :(

Not really...

Wouldn't bother me a bit if a terrorist bombed them!

I just don't get it...These protestors think it's OK for people like Saddam to kill his own people and have weapons that WILL get into terrorists hands?

If it was up to me, I'd give the protestors a one way ticket OUT of the USA to anywhere they wanted to go.

If you don't like it...LEAVE!

H.

Not just New York...but all over the place it would seem. These people worry me because there are so many of them....and there is so much disinformation around...so much propaganda. These people are the biggest threat to world stability. They are better defenders of Saddam (and the other rogues) than all of Iraq's armies and bin Laden's terrorists put together...

Global anti-war demonstrations

It amazes me how these protesters resort to violence to promote peace.

The biggest part of them would run anyway to keep from having to be in the service.

Why protest now? It has already started so it does no good to protest now.

Where were all the protesters after the 9/11 attacks?

They were all hollering for someone's blood then.

I don't have nothing for anyone that does not or would not fight for their country.

I have said it before and I will say it again, if you dis-like this country and it's leaders sooooo bad, then move to another country, or stay out of the way and let real people do their job and protect your butts.

I just want to say that I would not like to see anyone hurt or killed for having an opinion that is different than my own.

I know there are two sides to every story. I personally am not against taking Saddam out, but I also do not believe everything I hear from our government or media.

I have been watching some of the coverage and I hate that it is being covered like we are watching a video game. For each bomb dropped, there are people being killed. Not just the person who gassed his own people and not just his army.

In addition, this is taking a toll on our own people. There are American, British, Autralian, and Kurdish soldiers being killed. These soldiers families will be without their, fathers, mothers, sisters, brothers, sons and daughters. Many people have given their lives to make sure we continue to have the right of free speech whatever that may be.

i can't make the protesters shut up, or get less media coverage, but i can give my support for our gov & soldiers. i posted a link back a few topics, 12'r posted a link, and i hope everyone who supports our prez & military will make it known to them.

i've been wearing a support pin (the yellow ribbon with usa flag like shown in another link) for 2 weeks now.

as for how i feel about the protesters, skinny & schematic said it best for me. sorry i can't be more specific :D

keep the faith, eventually the protesters will have to go back to work or school, or jail ;)

Re: 120,000 Protestors in NYC

I've said before that I don't usually get into debates or posts that deal with politics or people thinking opposite to the way we feel they should think. Mainly cause I ain't good at it. But I do have one nagging worry about this incursion on a foreign country. What if we don't find the huge cache of "weapons of mass destruction" that we have been lead to believe is there? It certainly will put egg on ol' GWB's face and our country as a whole. Can you imagine the milage France and Russia would get out of that by throwing it up into our face every time we speak? Not to mention that these idiot protestors will have a field day with something like that. My biggest hope right now is that no more of our troops or our freindlies will meet their end in this war and at the end, GW will have his proof that he just didn't want to rip out Saddam's throat just for Sh*ts and giggles.

I noticed that people who support the liberation of Iraq don't have an issue with the protesters to peacefully assemble and protest.
However,it is obvious that the protesters have a total disregard for respect and tolerance for everyone, including an opposing view.

What if? What if all the protesters are proven wrong? How could what they do be recalled?

I don't have a problem with the protestors providing they know the facts. It is when they refuse to accept the facts and promote ignorance to others that may not be capable of making their own decesion. Those under the age of 18 should not be permitted to protest on something that they cannot vote on.

My teen son was against the war and we got into some really heated discussion on the subject. I told him first to watch the news instead of the cartoon channel. After watching and listening to some Iraqi people who tell their story about the actions of the Iraqi regime. He now understands that we are trying to set the Iraqi free from oppression.

These protestors should spend time in other countries just to see how these people live. I did when I did my 6 years in the Navy. All I can say that there is no place on this planet that matches the freedom that we have here in the United States! God, I really Love this Country! :D

Re: 120,000 Protestors in NYC

SS has got a good point. Usually there is some small group lead by a single leader that stirs up people who are not sure wether or not they agree with what we are doing or who truly believe that we should not be there and incite them to go to these protest marches and stir the pot. Maybe it's these small groups that need to be sent over there and let them get an ear and eye full of what living under a pus bucket like Saddam is all about. Usually these idiots never been outta the back yard. I understand the "Rev." Mr. Jackson was at some of these marches. I think this guy just needs to be handed a weapon and put in the fight. I'm no bigot but this guy stirs my pot good. Doesn't matter who's in office, he's against them. Better stop. Getting off on a rant here.

Some people protest just to protest the war just gives them a cause to protest agianst. Look at where the majority of the protests in the USA are comming from then look at the history of things that were protested. There is a connection. Anyway it does not matter if 10 thousand or 100 thousand US citizens protest the war openly because this country is based on the majority rule and it looks like the majority of Americians support the war.
BTW A little Personal opinion here if these people want to help out the Iraqies so much I suggest we help them do it. I can see the headlines now "Protesters take one-way trip to war ravaged nation!"

Re: 120,000 Protestors in NYC

I wonder how the protesters would feel if because they are all together, they were all blown up by a terrorist bomb? It would be very ironic...I wonder how easy all these protesters are making it for police to monitor real terrorist threat? Maybe the protesters should just make sure they take up the time and energy of all our protective forces in the US...Idiots...

As for finding or not finding weapons of mass destruction, to me it matters not. I lost my wallet last year, never found it, but I sure as heck know that I had it at one point. Just because I cannot find it, doesn't mean it isn't still wherever it is...

Re: 120,000 Protestors in NYC

Given the entire population of NYC, I would say that this is a pitiful number who support such silliness!
As it should be. This is just 12,000 out of the masses..I'll even wager that there are more than that in NYC's mental institutions!!!!
So if they are to be considered anything but comic releif to an otherwise serious, solemn event in our history, they need to show me something besides fake blood and rioting!!
These are the "members" of our society that look for any reason to break windows, set fires, and loot..It gives them cover. So in conclusion, I hereby put a fishing lure of your choice, if they do not resort to this tactic, and the media not make copy from the event within the next week!
They are very predictable, these mutant debris.

You know I have not heard much lately about the "Human Shield" these same folks were all fired up about a couple of weeks ago. Seems that they feel more comfortable protesting here where they can go back to their home at night, eat a good meal, and get a good nights sleep. ( Brought to them courtesy of that same government they are protesting) I don't mind the protests or the marches but when one of the protester's said that they were ashamed to be an american - that really gets to me. I will agree with them on one thing, I am ashamed that they are americans as well.

Re: 120,000 Protestors in NYC

Saw this in another forum today - sounds like a great way to deal with the protesters:

These activists may be alone or in a gathering.....most of us don't know how to react to them. When you come upon one of these people, or one of their rallies, here are the proper rules of etiquette:

1. Listen politely while this person explains their views. Strike up a conversation if necessary and look very interested in their ideas. They will tell you how revenge is immoral, and that by attacking the people who did this to us, we will only bring on more violence. They will probably use many arguments, ranging from political to religious to humanitarian.

2. In the middle of their remarks, without any warning, punch them in the nose.

3. When the person gets up off of the ground, they will be very angry and they may try to hit you, so be careful.

4. Very quickly and calmly remind the person that violence only brings about more violence and remind them of their stand on this matter. Tell them if they are really committed to a nonviolent approach to undeserved attacks, they will turn the other cheek and negotiate a solution. Tell them they must lead by example if they really believe what they are saying.

5. Most of them will think for a moment and then agree that you are correct.

6. As soon as they do that, hit them again. Only this time hit them much harder. Square in the nose.

7. Repeat steps 2-5 until the desired results are obtained and the idiot realizes how stupid of an argument he/she is making.

8. There is no difference in an individual attacking an unsuspecting victim or a group of terrorists attacking a nation of people. It is unacceptable and must be dealt with. Perhaps at a high cost.

We owe our military a huge debt for what they are about to do for us and our children. We must support them and our leaders at times like these. We have no choice. We either strike back, VERY HARD, or we will keep getting hit in the nose.
Lesson over, class dismissed
This is the best foward I have received on the subject!!
