120 Carb Part on a 140?

Hi!<br /><br />I've got an '86 140 evinrude looper. The plastic tubes that run from the carb float bowl to the carb barrel are disintegrating. <br /><br />I've heard from some on this board that a dealer may be able to get Bombardier to send a new set of tubes, however, trips to the only two dealers in town have been unsuccessful. <br /><br />I do have a set of carbs off a 120 hp looper. I know that I could swap out the entire set of carbs and throttle plate, but I would prefer to keep my 140 carbs if I could. <br /><br />So......would the tubes that I need be the same on the 120 and 140 carbs or would there be a significant difference between them? I know the diameter of the barrels are different, but the tubes look pretty similar.<br /><br />As always, thanks for the input.<br /><br />Brew

There are several tubes. 3 or 4 I think. You may be suprised with the 120 carbs and throttle bodys.<br /><br />You might try calling Jeff at Flagship Marine Engine Co. At one time he had the tubes. 800-282-2840. <br /><br />What kind of rpm can you turn now with an average load? what year are the 120 carbs from?

Thanks Dhadley,<br /><br />Been 7 months since the boat has touched water, but if I remember correctly, I was turning something around 5700-5800 RPM at WOT.<br /><br />Don't know what year the 120 carbs are. If fact, I'm not 100% sure that they are 120 carbs. They look identical to my 140 carbs other than the barrels are a slightly smaller diameter. Bought them at an auction a month or so ago.<br /><br />Would you happend to have a non 1-800 number for Flagship Marine? I'm in Canada, and I assume that they are somewhere in the US of A. I doubt the 800 number will work from here.<br /><br />Thanks again.<br /><br />Brew

Their 800 number works all over but their other number is 941-639-3738.<br /><br />I'd clean the 120's and install kits and try them. You may be suprised.
