I put a 120 force on a boat that had a 90 force. Both motors ran well. Left the wires on the boat and attached to the 120 motor. The only difference in the controls is the boat I put the 120 on has a lanyard kill switch. I attached all wires to the 120, turns over fine but no fire. Also, the choke does not work. On the boat I took the 120 from, the white wire was connected to the screw with the red wire at the ignition switch. So I unhooked the kill switch at the ignition and attached the white wire with the red like it was on the other boat, still no fire. I have 12.7v to the red wire going into the module, but no significant voltage at either of the wires going to the coil or the distributer. The motor has a module, a coil and a distributer, a plug wire from distributer to each of 4 cylinders. I keep thinking it is a wiring issue, but the wiring is so similar.
The model is 836 7A. Is this a 1990 L drive motor?
Any ideas? First post, can anyone help?
