I have a 1990 Johnson 120 that I want to get the carbs rebuilt on. I dont have any problems out of them but had a bad experience with an older Rude with a clogged jet ruining my powerhead. Does anyone know how many carbs are on this engine and about what it would cost to have a boat shop rebuild them. Thanks any help would be great

2 carb bodies with 2 barrels per body.
Price can vary widely, but I would plan on atleast 150.00+, with parts and labor, maybe a bit more if they have to re-rig much.

Re: 120 Johnson Carb Rebuild

You will need 4 carb kits for that motor. As Walleye said, there are 4 individual carb bodies attached to two throttle bodies. Kits are about $15 apiece, and if you take it to a shop, most places are an hour to 1 1/2hr per carb for a complete clean and overhaul.

OBJ is right on saying to get the manual. How else will you be able to set the float drop and float height, synch the carbs, adjust the linkage, set the idle, and adjust the mixture screws?
