I've got a 93 120 johnson that the VRO pump went bad about 3 years ago it was bypassed per the instructions from a dealer mechanic with no problems. Now my fuel pump has went bad and I was wondering if there was a replacement fuel pump that dont have a VRO, or just rebuild the fuel side of the pump. I dont want the vro reinstalled. K.C.

Hi, I have a bad vro pump too. Oil side. How did you bypass the oil side? Would appreciate the instruction. Thanks Dave Cape Coral, Fl

Re: 120 johnson fuel pump

remove the wiring harness from the tank, unplug the harness to the vro pump. cut and block oil line. now premixed your gas 50:1, remove the fuel line to the top carb, now pump the fuel line bulb, until you get premixed fuel out of the hose, use a container to catch the gas. reconnect carb, and go boating. you can tell when you get premixed gas by the color of it.
