120 looper wont throttle up

Engine is a 1992 120 johnson. Problem: any throttle over 3/4 will cause the engine to bogs, load up and die. Stop the engine, raise the idle bar and crank on it till it clears then it will run fine. Planes off good, reaches 4800 rpms, maitains the 4800 rpms for about 10 seconds then dies, almost like no fire. So i replaced the stator, still no improvement. Help!

Have you tried bumping the primer (choke) switch as it's dying or pumping the priming bulb?<br /><br />c/6<br />Hooty
