Hi I am trying to source the proper transom seal kit and everything I have found will not give me a definite answer.
I believe it should be a Mercury 1 and that would mean Sierra 18-8205 but I have an exhaust bellows not a exhaust tube which would make me believe by the pic I would need Sierra 18-2601-1
Any help would be appreciated Thanks

Ayuh,....... You've got a late model MC-1 outdrive,.....

You can use either the exhaust bellows, or the exhaust tube,.....

Stay away from Sierra. The rubber they use for the bellows is very stiff and incredibly difficult to fit. I used one, once! Never again!

The Merc number for the transom seal kit is 30-803097T1. I would suggest using the exhaust bellows on that engine, not an exhaust tube...

If you haven't used this site, start now. Get the serial numbers for your engine, gimbal, outdrive, etc and look for the parts you need. This requires serial numbers, for accuracy.

From the link, the first Sierra part number is wrong- it has the gear oil passage in the transom gasket and your boat doesn't need it. It won't hurt anything to have it, but other parts won't necessarily be correct, either.

The link goes to the home page- you'll need to look at the left side and click on:

'Sterndrive'
'Drives'
'120/140'

Click on 1978-1982, then 'Bell Housing Assembly'. You'll see all of the parts in the gasket kit, with the transom gasket as Part 1.

ANY PARTS WITH A '+' SYMBOL HAVE BEEN SUPERCEDED! Looking for the original parts will be a waste of time unless you want old parts. Some part numbers refer to an assembly.
