I know this is probably a common problem at times and has probably been asked a million times but on my 1990 120hp Force the tilt n trim will act great as far as power up/down but when it is in the up position very slowly it will come down on its own. Nothing is leaking on the ground and the fluid is clean and at a good level. What are the common problems that cause this to happen? thanks for any advise.

Bleed down is almost always the valve body. They are available new for $230-$300. You can get yours rebuilt for around $120. Check Ebay or pm me. If you have a 1988-1992 engine then you should replace trim motor gaskets and through bolt sealing washers at same time. The motor will last forever if you keep out water and rust. Motor seals usually begin leaking around same time as bleed down. A new set of seals is around $30 while a new motor is around $250. If your motor isn't rusting yet then new seals are a bargain. Valve body repair is not a good DIY project. Tools and materials are not available through marine dealers and there is no manual.
