I have a 1996 merc EXLPTO 125 HP and I have had this motor a year and it has always hesitated when you punch the accelerator to start to go fast. its about a 1 to 2 second hesitation is this normal or is there something I can do to fix this? The motor runs fine at idle and at high speeds just this hesitation is the only problem.

Thats the time the engine goes from 2 to 4 carbs, somethings a little adjustment on the low speeds will work, or a slight increase of rpm at idle. If you are not running at max rpm or a little above with the hull in heavy condition, you may have to reprop--Bob
