The specs say 1 1/4 turns out for the idle
mixture screws. This setting is too lean.
After multiple testing, in gear, lowest RPM,
the best setting is 2 turns out. the motor
now does not stall or sputter. Also acceleration is improved. the idle speed
must be set to 1300 RPM (in neutral).
This has been an ongoing problem with all
leaner settings not working. Also motor
seemed to run abit hot and sometimes stall
after coming down from high RPM levels.
(when set at 1 1/4 turns)

Any responses??? This is my first posting.

kcb

Re: 125 force stalling problem fixed,

The settings listed in the book are just a starting place. Idle mixture must be set on a warmed up engine, in gear and in the water.

Re: 125 force stalling problem fixed,

I used to have an 87 Force 125 OB and it worked rather well except it would stall when warmed up and I brought it back to idle, then tried to put it back in gear. Made docking and trailering tons of fun. I had thought about messing with the idle mixture... but I never did. Solved by trading the boat <G> Glad to hear you got yours good to go!
