1985 bayliner with a 125 force outboard i bought this boat with no pump motor for tilt. Only the lines were there. I guess it went bad on the other owner. I bought new pump. Moror off of e bay installed bleed the lines. Well. It goes up just fine but it won't come down unless I crack a line. Please help.

21BaylinerCC makes a valid point. That is if you don't hear the pump running when you try to trim down.

The relays are the same. Flip the plugs and if it comes down but not up then replace the relays. If no change then a valve in the pump is stuck.

Happened to me last summer. I trimmed up to remove the transom saver and then nothing. Never once hesitated prior to that. Flipped the relays and got her in the water for the day. Good luck!

There are no relays in a 1985. Does the pump make noise in both directions ?

Yes motor and pump work both ways. It wants to start coming down then stops and motor keeps running

If it's running but not moving?
Then usually that means low oil, wrong oil or a bad o-ring in the pump's shuttle valve.

Does it go down if you put pressure on it?

Since it also went some time without a pump hooked up there cold be something blocking the lines???

It does not go down when I push on it with the motor running. I blew the lines out the pump is new the motor reservoir is new. I used 30 weight non detergent oil. ??? Maybe check is bad in new pump???

When did you by it?
The only thing you can do is send it back.
E-bay sellers usually are pretty good about replacing or giving your $$$ back.
Any bad reports get's them booted off E-bay.
Paypal is on your side too.
marineenginedotcom sells them and usually has better results.
