Hi all,
I have a 1987 Force 125hp with no compression on cylinder #2. the rest of them test out at 90psi on the nose. thought it was the head gasket was the problem, so I replaced it and to no avail, same results.
Looking at the cylinder heads, there doesn't seem to be any pieces missing, ring looks to be in tact, from what I could see of it. I have not pulled anything else apart as I'm still a novice at marine engines.
History on this motor is unknown, I bought this from a woman who didn't know anything about it. I know that is has not been run in over 3 years.
My biggest question, is it worth it to fix this motor, or just scrap it and get something that won't get me any problems?
does have spark and fuel, did get it briefly started, ran really rough (but with out the second cylinder I know why lol)
Thanks in advance.
