Hi
I use my boat this yesterday and the heat alarm come on, the impeller is new and is working i can see the water coming from the holes.

did someone know if the tube coming in to the housing of the impeller have to have some kind of o'ring or something. mine is just the tube go in to the water plastic tube from the water pump, and also I don?t have the thermostate put it on.

i can run the motor for about an hour with the muffings but on the lake take me 10 minutes to star the hot signal at full trottle.

any ideas.

I believe I'd put a temp gauge on it. I keep wondering if you are using a good 2 stroke outboard oil. I mean no offense, but it kinda sounds like your motor isn't getting oiled. Good luck

Either the water passage in the block is plugged or the ignition timing is not set correctly. Drop the lower unit. Take the thermostat housing off and take a water hose and seal it in the thermostat housing opening with rags or something. Turn the water on full blast and maybe it will clear out the blockage. Water should be flowing out of the water tube with no restriction.

There is a chance that something has happened to the new water pump impeller that you just installed that is causing it not to pump like it should. There is no "O" ring on the bottom of the water tube where it slides into the plastic tube on the water pump.

To check the ignition timing, you need a timing light and service manual. It should not be set any more than 32 degrees advanced.

Thanks guys I change the impeller was new and i put the water hose and the water flow is fine, some water come from the maniful and some from the water holes, so I will need to find a light to check the timming other wise I don?t see the way to solve this problem.

Not an expert, but I have read on other sites that you should not remove the thermostat...I understand that the design of the outboards are for certain temperatures that are somewhat regulated by the thermostat. This is why all thermostats are not the same. Mine is a 110 degree thermostat where others may be 140 degrees. Not related to the climate that I am in. You might want to check with a professional and see their take of this issue.
