125hp force outboard engine

luis hi bought a bayliner capri 20ft boat with a 1989 125 force outboard engine.it has not started in about 2 years ,changed sparkplugs and the fuel lines primer bulb rebuilt carburators new battery. try to start but i am not getting no spark any suggestions.

hi I recomend do the following actions.

1rst. check the switch cut off the usually is beside the wheel is a small plastic key like the jetski, if is not there you shut take off that switch and cancel.

2nd. nromally when you have a problem with a coil normally is only one or two cyclinder problem not all. make suro you don?t have spark in all cyclinders I bought in autozone a spark test cost around 10 dlls.and inspect one by one.

3rd. you will have to inspect the cdi?s two on that engine that part controll the electricty of the coils each one control two coils, normally one of them is working.

Luis: First at the engine terminal board disconnect the white (blanca) wire. If you now get spark, the problem is a short to ground somewhere between the terminal board and the switch. The blue (azul) and white (Blanca) wires are the STOP circuit.
