I've got a 1972 125hp that was having some trouble starting. It wouldn't start, then it would then it would be in drive and wouldn't come out, so I finally found my way trouble shooting up into the control box. I opened it up and found the little switch that switches the engine from fwd.drv. and rev, was broken at the swivel point. So you can move it back and forth but the engine doesn't shift gear, until you stick a screw driver in there and give it a turn then it's fine. So.. all that to say does anyone know what that part is called and where can I get another one? IF I can get another one. thanks alot for your input you guys really are great!
