Just an early 80's sears gamefisher, i know its a small project but its my attempt to get the itch into my 11 year old, basicaly all im doing is repaiting it and adding some small swivel seats and some rod holders, and adding a new board on the back for the motor mount,,,,,

had boat in water no leaks just wondering if theres any chance it leaks after the sanding? also gluevit do i get it at marine store or is it a home depot purchase, same question for the metal prep as some of the metal will be bare when were done sanding,,,,

pics will come when i figure out how to add them here,,,

Gluvit you'll probably have to order, either from iboats or other marine retailers. Remember that Gluvit isn't UV protected so you'll need to paint it. For your bare metal paint prep, I'd go to Pep-Boys and grab a can of this: http://www.duplicolor.com/products/selfEtchingPrimer/ You just need a light dusting.

Thanks for the help,, the gluvit should i put it on both sides of the rivets and then prime it as soon as it cures?

also another question for the boat the motor support on the transom right now is just a piece of rotted 1/4" plywood, should i just use a marine grade plywood or is there something better, i will only be using an electric motor with this boat

Marine ply is a nice product but I think would be overkill in this situation. Just used exterior grade and seal it well. I prefer to just use the Gluvit from the inside.
