I have a 2000 130hp johnson.Noticed engine running very cold so installed new thermostats but same problem.Checked spark plugs and found water in 2(top) cylinders.Removed heads and confirmed, but gaskets seems to be in good shape(new last year}I did testing on a remote tank with fresh gas so moisture in fuel can be ruled out.Can water enter a cylinder other than head gasket? Help anyone!

Yes. A crack or pin hole in the block could allow water into the cylinders. Its something that is certianly not common on the V4 looper.

It can be found and hopefully its in an area that can be welded.

Good luck!

Hoot - Give some thought to installing new head gaskets and giving it compression check before you start to pull it completely apart. Do you have spark in those cyl? If so give it a try. If OK retorque the head bolts after a run or two.
