does anybody know if the 135 is a headache motor about to buy one.

The basic design of that motor is still in producton on the 2.0L 136V6. Obvoiusly some of the electronics, carbs and trim pieces have changed.
I think the answer depends on the condition of the motor.

You could get stuck with a headache motor if you do not first check it's conditon before buying it. Some of these checks include proper compression on all cylinders, adequate spark on all cylinders, no indication of water intrusion into the lower unit, good water flow from the pee hole, and running well at idle and WOT out on the water. This would be apply to the purchase of any brand or model outboard, not just a Merc 135.
