I have a 1998 135 Mercury Optimax that keeps eating cylinders, bearings and rings. It it is now on its fourth powerhead and has less then four hundred hours on it. It is hooked to a fishing boat and is not used for racing, water skiing or anything that will cause lots of wear and tear on it and yet I continue to have all types of trouble with it. I am as tired of seeing the dealer as he is of seeing me.
