That's a great reading. The actual compression numbers don't matter as much as long as they're over 100psi, what matters is how close they are (within 10%). If it's a generic pressure gauge, it's water pressure. Inline sixes will last forever if they have clean carbs, good fuel/oil, and are propped to 5800. I had a 79 115 on an 18 foot runabout it would push that boat to 45 mph gps and sound great doin it

Fantastic readings and you're gonna love that Spyder. I had an '86 with a 1350 Merc on it and it was a great handling boat. Flat wake for skiers and it'll turn so sharp and flat your head will spin.

The only comment I'll make is that the 1350 wasn't quite enough power for the hull but unless you're a Speed Freek I think you'll be quite happy with the 115, which being rated at the prop, should be as strong or stronger than my old 135.

I knew a guy at the local lake with a Johnson 150 GT V6 on a Spyder hull like mine and he GPS'd it one day at 64 mph on the lake, that's flying! You should get mid 40's or better with the right prop.

Enjoy!...........ed
