14' lund project completed, took pics along the way

well i bought her last year, and thought i would put some time and a little bit of money and renovate my lund.

Are those pressure treated 2 x 4's I see? Are those braces steel? Are the bolts steel too?

Are those pressure treated 2 x 4's I see? Are those braces steel? Are the bolts steel too?

you bet, i used treated 2x4s and treated plywood. used 2x4 hangers for the middle. stainless screws/ rivets ect. ...reinforced the hell out of the middle part where the seat used to be lol. wish i could get the rest of my pictures uploaded so i could show ya

Are you aware that the joist hangers will react to the aluminum and create a galvanic reaction and the aluminum will not win that battle...... and the copper used in the acq pressure treated wood will also cause very bad reactions with the aluminum. Do a google search for aluminum and acq pressure treated wood


So based on the title of your post "completed" they are already below the deck??

****! i had no idea, carpet is wrapped all around the plywood not sure if thatll be fine or not. What happens to the aluminum?

I really feel bad about breaking that news to you but we have tons of aluminum restorations going on and tons completed here too.

im pretty pissed off haha, put in alot of hours and about 500 bucks into it lol. but i really apreciate you telling me this. but it will likely take years for it to do this right? put too much money and time into it to start from scratch again lol

Unfortunately time is not on your side. You have essentially turned your boat into a battery with shorted terminals.

Thanks for posting pics! I am looking at a small Lund and converting it to a flat bottom floor like you did. Your boat looks really good, btw!
