I was wandering if anyone has seen a boat like this before or any info they can share with me. It was built in 1969 I think and came with a 115 HP Merc. Short Shaft. When I got it it had no motor. I got a good deal on a newer distributerless 1150 Merc. with built in tilt but it is a long shaft. So I reinforced and raised the transom to compincate for the long shaft. Will this hamper its performance or should I consider shortening the shaft? On a full tunnel hull like this, is it important for air to pass threw the tunnel? Any info is greatly appreciated.

that's a cool old boat and I used to see boats like that around back in the day; we called them hydroplanes even if that hull technically isn't. Still see them at the races.

I hope your transom reinforcement is done correctly; that's a major weight and stress point. I assume too you have experience driving them. Have fun!
