140 h.p. compression???

please help!!! my first boat. has a chrysler 140 yr. is 78. 3 cylenders @ 145 & 1 cylinder is @ 125. what should i do??? thanks for any help!!!

Welcome to iboats.

The first thing I would do is stop writing help, help, help... We all are here to both give and get advise. No need to beat a dead horse.

Your compression is not bad at all. If the motor has sat for a bit you can get a goofy reading, also it can be effected by how you do the test.
I would run the engine for a few days and see, then retest it. If its the same or still has a bit more cylinder difference that you like to see, try a de-carb (run sea-foam through it) and that may help.
Your best bet is not to over react.

o.k great advice...yes motor has set for abouy 2 yrs. had carbs off at time of compression check to rebuild. spun motor same# of revs on each cylinder. will check again now that carbs are done. THANKS alot.
