I hope someone can help. I bought a boat 1977? (real cheap) for me and my boys to play with. It starts fine but the oil turned milky after about 2 minutes. I drained and filled and same thing. The pre owner had installed a new carb and it looks like he made his own gasket so I am suspect of his work. I then noticed a trickel of water coming from the right side of the engine below the intake but above the frost plug. It is toward the front of the engine. I drained the oli once again and sure enough it filled with milk. The water seemed to be picking up speed running down the block. I find it hard to believe it would be a cracked block cause it runs fine. Except for the self sinking feature. Ideas? and if so where can I get parts for this unit if I have to repace anything? I would just buy a new one but my boys love it 4 and 9...

Welcome to iboats.

Sorry to hear of your misfortune. I'm afraid there's no good news here. You either have a bad head gasket (let's hope) or a cracked block. Now you know why it was so cheap. No doubt the seller knew as well. I'm afraid you got screwed. Worth hiring a lawyer?

It's the same problem to me before. A friend of
mine gave me his 1979 seaswirl boat "free". I'm not really interestedv to have a boat but since
he gave it free I took it for granted. The engine starts but the oil is milky I change it 3x and still the same I pulled out the cyl. head for test and everything is o.k. the change the gasket and run again same thing I change the manifold and no more milky oil. Before you suspect the block check your manifold and changed your riser too. Good luck
