Re: 140 johnsons 1988 no spark one side
I just went thru this with my 1990 120. Trouble was corrosion on the coil terminals. Spark tester showed one cylinder on left side was dead, the other firing intermittently. Checked magneto coils and they were fine, so figured it was the power pack. Then found a lot of rust in the cap connected to the wire that connects to the primary terminal on the coil (the lower voltage terminal - the other terminal goes to the spark plug wire). Cleaned it with a pocket knife and cleaned terminal on coil with sandpaper, applied conductive grease to both and now have good spark on all cylinders.
