TOOK THE GEM OUT TO CONNECTICUT THIS 4TH AND WENT ON THE WETHERSFIELD RIVER.(FRESH WATER) THE TEMP ROSE UP TO 240. I SHUT HER DOWN AND ANCHORED FOR THE DAY. ON THE RETURN BACK I TOOK IT EASY. STAYED AROUND 230 STEADY WITH ENGINE C0VER OPENED. AFTER ABOUT 5 MINS I HEARD A SMALLL FIZZLE SOUND LIKE BLOWING AIR THROUGH CLOSED LIPS. I SHUT HER DOWN AND GOT TOWED BACK. NOTICED ON THE SIDE OF THE ENGINE JUST ABOVE WHERE THE SPARK PLUGS ARE AND THE METAL CURVES SOME BUBBLES LIKE AIR BUBBLES ALONG THE SIDE FROM FRONT OF ENGINE TO REAR. ALSO HEARD A RATTLING IN ENGINE WHEN SHE WAS MOVING . I THOUGHT IT WAS POSSIBLE THE THERMOSTAT RATTLING. MY FRIEND SAID IT SOUNDED LIKE THE WATER PUMP IN THE ENGINE. FIRST QUESTION. DOES IT HAVE A WATER PUMP IN THE ENGINE? OR JUST THE IMPELLER ONE IN THE OUTDRIVE. ALSO DO YOU THINK I ALSO BLEW THE HEAD GASKET? WHAT MADE THE TEMP RISE. AND WHAT WOULD IT RUN TO GET THIS REPAIRED AT THE MARINE SHOP. WORST CASE SCENARIO, INCLUDE JUST THE THERMOSTAT PRICE THE WATER PUMP PRICE , THE HEAD GASKET. ALL SEPARTATE IF YOU CAN.AND THEN COMBINED . MEANING IF ITS JUST THE THERMOSTAT PRICE OR THE HEAD GASKET PRICE BEING THE THERMOSTAT WOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE LABOR OF REPLACING THAT. THANKS FOR THE SUFGGESTIONS. IM NOT MECHANICALLY INCLINED AS YOU CAN TELL .. THANKS ALL.. OH BY THE WAY IVE HAD THE BOAT THREE YEARS BUT BECAUSE OF ONGOING PROBLEMS THE BOAT HAS BEEN IN THE WATER ABOUT 5 TINMES EACH SEASON AND I HAVENT CHANGED THE IMPELLER WATER PUMP NOR THE THERMOSTAT SINCE IVE GOTTEN IN,... WHAT ARE THE MAITENANCE REQUIREMENTS FOR THESE PARTS EACH SEASON? SHOULD THEY BE CGHANGED EACH SEASON. THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP...
