1995 Johnson 112 spl

will average 800-900 lbs. payload, on a 1995 wellcraft ccf 190. These are my 3 choices listed above. The tach is still acting up on the boat but does go in and out,but when it gets on plain, I try to keep it around 4000 rpms to get to where were going. I do know that the original 10 year old, 14x17 is struggling to get on plane. I'm getting a prop from the kids for F's-day, and want the right one for them to be excited about.

Should I even consider a 4 fin prop? By the description at BPS's it sounds perfect for what I need. It says you lose top end, buy I'm no too worried about 1-2 MPH. By the way it will be aluminum.

Also, what is the best cruising RPM for this motor? Thanks for the help.

The best prop will be the one that puts you at 5800 with your average load. If your running a 17 now thats probably a safe bet. Without a tach you'll never know. Unless the starboard pistons coke up and then a ring breaks. Then you'll know the motor's lugging.

With an aluminum prop we'd bet your motor is mounted all the way down. That may be robbing you of efficiency and engine life. Again, no way to know without a tach.

4 blade props are a good choice but you'll have to be willing to adjust the set up. Raising the motor will certianly be involved. Real simple but probably necessary. Once more -- get the tach operational first.
