14x17 prop crappy

Hi I have a 1980 seaswirl 16' with 140hp omc. I am at about 4500 feet above sea level and run a michigan 011024. wich after doing a search on this prop, is a 14x17. Now it takes forever to get out of the hole (plane) and top speed kinda sucks as well. What prop do you suggest? I am on a budget.

Sounds like you need to go down in pitch, but make sure you stay within the manufacturers maximum RPM limit when running at wide open throttle.
