15 HP 1967 Johnson ouboard with a broken shift lever...

hey i recently purchased my first boat (15 HP 1967 Johnson ouboard)and the second time i took it out the shift lever broke off, the rod broke off about half an inch into the motor.
I have been searching like crazy for this rod's part number as well as instructions on how to fix it but have had no luck so far!
Also wondering if this has happened to anyone else before and have found a quick n easy fix??

I'd appreciate all the help i can get!

go to marineengine.com, you will find the part #. then check out the salvage yards in the top secret file at the beginning of this forum.

Unfortunately, i have checked that website but it does not seem to have the part diagram for this motor, are their any other websites that may have the diagram?

upon a second look, your motor isnt there!? hopefully someone else will chime in on this one as your motor may share parts with another model/year.
