Got a this motor a couple of weeks ago. Put the ears on it and it fired right up after the 2nd pull. Ran it for a while, idled well. A couple of days later, ran it agin for a while, ran like it did before. Brought the motor to my boat on the water, installed it, plugged gas in. Tried starting the thing up : it hiccuped once then nothing.
Thing I've checked so far:
gas fresh
gas is getting to the pump
removed spark plugs and checked (new plugs, no deposit)
gas filter clean

The only thing I can think of is that I carried the motor on it's side from the handle. Could that have done something? Any other things I can check myself?
Thanks for your help!

all you need to kill the motor is one piece of crud in the gas .. running it a while may have loosen some crud and got the innards plugged up

if you have spark you likely need to clean the carb..inspect flel flow

btw vent is open yes ?

You carried from the stand to the boat at the edge of you backyard ?----Did you run carburetor empty , yes or no ?------Have you considered that the motor might be " flooded " with fuel if carried with carburetor full of fuel ?

Did not run it empty. Might be the problem. How would I go about un-flooding it?

Fuel flow seems ok to me. Gas is a week old with stabilizer added to. Tank was clean when filed.

sounds familiar somehow -- prior posting on this?

no matter. Take the cover off and make sure the plug boots are snapped on tight. Find the single amphenol connector on the throttle side of the head, towards the rear. Disconnect it and see if the motor starts (kill switch connection). Check the tank connector at the motor to make sure it's clicked in place.

(fuel ratio is 50:1.)
