15 HP Force parts or engine for parts

I have a 1993 15 hp Force engine.<br />S/N is 0e044716<br />Model Ho15201pd.<br />The lower unit needs replaced, but I cannot find one. Even on Iboats.<br />Does anyone know where I can get parts or another engine for parts?<br />I have been watching EBAY of course.<br /><br />Thanks,<br /><br />Mike

Is the outside of the unit damaged and if so how bad. Most parts for the lower unit are still availible from Mercury. If exterior damage is not to bad you might be able to get if fixed by a welder

The housing is in good shape. Seems the engine got stored with water in the lower unit oil. So the gears are all rusted and ruined. Don't know<br />what else is bad in there.<br />I did find on on Ebay with prop for 200.00 <br />Is that a good price or too high?<br /><br />Thanks,<br /><br />Mike

Doug russel site is showing a gear housing kit for 500 bucks. Not sure what exactly that is. My guess is it includes all the stuff in the lower unit. If that is the case I think I would go that route so you know you have a good unit. To replace that motor probably would be around $1500 for a decent older model. Part number for the kit is 1600 - 819483A 2

Complete 15hp Force motors appear regularly on ebay.<br />Might get a deal on one with a blown powerhead.<br /><br />But if you don't want to wait around, jump on that one on ebay.<br />Shipping is cheap enough.

Thanks for the tips guys. I got on on Ebay today for 50.00. Should do what I needed.<br />When the engine is running I will post results.
