don't use starter fluid (like hotshot) on a 2-stroke. Too hot and no oil.

Re: 15 hp johnson need help!!!!!

I would check the compression of both cylinders and then I would run some OMC Engine Tuner thru the motor. Make sure you have a new set of plugs to put in afterwards. When I do my engine I put in a old set of plugs first then run the omc engine tuner. After all done and all the carbon out of the engine then I put in a new set of plugs.

On my motor it made a big difference in the idle speed. I also had a weak coil on one cylinder.

Also check your Points and timing for both cylinders.

sounds like a dirty carb or an air leak. did you take the carb apart and soak it then blow out all the passages?
