Hi all, I have a 1989 Force 15 hp, and when i bought it used, there was a two blade prop on it. 8 1/4 x 8. I am using this motor on a Grizzly 1548 aluminum boat, and was hopeing for a bit more go. It seems to have plenty of power, but falls a bit short of plaining. does anyone know what should be on that motor. The motor runs the balls and dont want to replace it if I dont have to.
thanks ron

You should check the motor.Compression?is it running on both cylinders?
Need a little more info.description of the boat and the load.Would be really good to know the rpm and speed.a tiny tach is reasonbly priced easy to install
and will fit any 2 cylinder motor without regard to stator poles.Speed by gps.
I'm only guessing on the Force but the 8" pitch seems light but no way to tell without specs.unless someone has the same setup. The 15 should produce speeds in the area of 22-28 mph
on a reasonably light boat. The more I think about it that prop may be intended for heavy loads or perhaps from a smaller motor.Again guessing on the force but I would guess a 9 or 10" pitch for normal operation. You shouldn't make any changes without knowing rpm.
